What You Need to Know About Moving to Europe from Dubai

AIR FREIGHT
This is the fastest way to ship, but it also costs the most. Most airfreight shipments are picked up, put in a box, and put on an aeroplane within 48 hours of being packed. The trip takes less than a day, but getting through customs and quarantine at the destination could take up to 4 days.
LCL – LESS THAN CONTAINER LOAD SHIPMENTS
An LCL service is usually quoted when you don’t have enough items to fill a 20ft Container and don’t have time to wait for us to fill a groupage container. After packing is done in Dubai, your goods will be sent to our freight forwarder, who has a weekly sailing schedule for moving to Germany or the Netherlands. LCL Shipping is the most cost-effective way to send small packages that are too important to wait for groupage shipments but not important enough to send via Air Freight. From what we can tell, this is the second most expensive way to ship goods from Dubai.
FCL – FULL CONTAINER LOAD SHIPMENTS
When you have more than half a 20-foot container’s worth of goods, FCL shipments are the most cost-effective way to send them. We book the whole container for your goods, so there are no freight forwarders involved. There is no extra work to be done. That is, the container will be brought to your home at Origin and loaded there. Then it will be sealed and sent out. It will be at your home or destination the next time you see it (if access permits). This is different from LCL shipping, where containers have to be put together at the origin and taken apart at the destination, which often takes more time.
GROUPAGE SHIPPING
Groupage shipping is by far the cheapest way to send smaller packages (less than half a 20ft Container) to Europe from Dubai. Shipments are packed and stored in our warehouse until we have enough to fill a container that is going to Europe. In Dubai, most people have to wait between 4 and 8 weeks. This is for packages that don’t need to be sent right away. Some of our customers use this option to ship most of their goods and then book a very small Air freight shipment to make sure their most important items get there on time.

Items that you should not bring to Europe
There are some things you can’t bring with you from Dubai to Europe because of strict shipping rules. Because Europe has strict customs rules, bringing these things can cause problems that will make it take a long time for your things to get to you.
Illegal drugs, cordless electronics, animal fur, skin, tusks, or ivory are some of these things. Also, you can’t bring subversive things like pornography, audiovisual equipment that isn’t marked, endangered plants or animals or things made from them, or things that are protected by the Washington Convention of 1973.
