Can I pack my own goods for Shipping to Australia?
Even though we offer full packing services, you may still want to sort out your things before our packing team arrives. It is normal for us to send packing materials ahead of time. You can put things in cartons as long as you let us seal the boxes and put the final touches on the goods. Most of the time, we have to add an extra layer or two of cushioning to protect what the owner has put in the boxes. Items that have been “Packed By Owner” should not be sent to Australia for two very important reasons. First of all, Customs and quarantine officers will look more closely at boxes that say “PBO.” Second, these things won’t be covered by our marine policies. It is best to let our team safely and professionally pack your things.

We place shipping bookings with DCL (Direct Container Lines) like Maersk, Hapag Lloyd, CMA CGM, etc and always avoid NVOCC. Use of NVOCC can reduce your ocean freight, however the additional charges upon arrival to destination terminal can be on the higher side.
Insuring your Goods
There are many insurers that provide a catered coverage to various removal companies subject to volumes, claims ratio, etc where premiums differ for each service provider and some services and goods list may be excluded or included. The underwriters sign off a detailed service inclusions and exclusions and this is later described in your insurance policy certificate. Selecting a right insurance company through your removal company is important to ensure the claims process is faster and avoid too much of paper works and documentation.

Unpacking Assembly of Goods back at Destination
Post Covid 19, most removal companies in EU, Americas, UK, Australia etc do not offer full unpacking or assembly services. Your standard service would include unpack of furniture’s only and assembly of standard furniture’s which include simple beds and tables only. To avoid any miscommunications, please ask your move consultant what additional furniture’s need to be assembled back at destination country and a separate handyman rate can be included in the quote for your review and consideration. Note that few global destination agents in specific countries do not unpack cartons at all, however there are exceptions where some may unpack cartons that contain breakables and fragile goods only for reporting any damages and for insurance purpose. If you wish to avail full destination unpacking and assembly services, pls request your move consultant to include additional handyman service rate.
